What is the truth of who Jesus is?
If you take one thing away from this church, let it be this: Jesus is Lord.
Jesus is Lord!
- Jesus is the second Person of the Trinity: God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
- Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah prophesied in the Hebrew Scriptures.
- The Messiah is the promised one who conquered sin and death.
- He came to atone for the sins of the world, that whoever believes in Him shall inherit eternal life.
- During His earthly ministry, He mentored His disciples, preached to the multitudes, forgave sins, and healed many, even raising people from the dead.
He was crucified, buried, and rose from the dead three days later — and was seen alive by more than 500 witnesses.
What Does a Christian Believe?
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, a holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
A Prayer for Salvation
“Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you are the way, the truth, and the life. I confess that I am a sinner. Please forgive me for all my sins. I confess You as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You and serve You all my days. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.”
What's next?
Put most succinctly: love Him with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength, and treat those you work and live around the same way you want to be treated. As for more specific steps:
- 1Become a regular member of a good church and join a Bible study or a home fellowship.
- 2Ask God to help you find the place He wants for you. He will help you.
- 3Make friends with other Christians and spend time together. Christians need one another to grow in their faith and you are no exception.
- 4Spend time with God. Read His Word, the Bible — start with the Gospel of Mark. Spend time talking with Him in prayer; He will answer you through recalled thoughts, the quiet voice of His Spirit, and Scriptures He makes come alive to you.
- 5Tell others what Jesus has done for you. This is called sharing your faith.
- 6Read about water baptism and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Water Baptism
Water baptism is the public act of saying you belong to Jesus and turning from your old ways to His Way.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit
When you became a Christian, you received His Spirit within you. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is an overflowing, an enablement, and an empowerment for God's service.
